Pregabalin (Neurobalin) 75 mg– Nerve Pain & Seizure Management
Description
Neurobalin 75 mg (Pregabalin) is prescribed for chronic nerve pain caused by diabetes, shingles, or spinal injury. It is also used as an add-on therapy for partial seizures in epilepsy. Additionally, it may aid in fibromyalgia symptom management and improve sleep quality and daily functioning.
How It Works
Pregabalin works by calming overactive nerves, reducing neurotransmitter release. This decreases pain signals and seizure activity while potentially enhancing mood, sleep, and overall daily performance.
Dosage
Treatment typically starts at 75 mg once or twice daily. Depending on response, the dose may be increased to 300–600 mg/day. Patients with kidney impairment may require adjusted dosing. Dose changes should always be guided by a healthcare professional.
Side Effects
Common side effects include dizziness, drowsiness, weight gain, and dry mouth. Other possible effects include blurred vision, swelling, and difficulty concentrating. Abrupt discontinuation can cause withdrawal symptoms.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Pregabalin should only be used during pregnancy if the benefits outweigh risks. It passes into breast milk and may affect infants. Breastfeeding is generally not recommended unless advised by a doctor.
Storage Instructions
Store in a dry, dark place below 25°C. Protect from heat and moisture. Keep securely out of reach of children.
UK Regulation
Pregabalin is a Prescription-Only Medicine (POM) and a Schedule 3 Controlled Drug in the UK. Possession or supply without a prescription is illegal.
